what is mempool.space?

mempool.space is the open-source explorer for the bitcoin network: real-time mempool visualisation, fee estimates, block data and lightning network maps, all self-hostable and maintained by the mempool open source project. it is the reference dashboard the community actually reads before broadcasting transactions.

looking up an address on an explorer normally tells the explorer - and whoever watches it - which addresses you care about. the project wires its official onion directly into the production site as the tor endpoint, so tor visitors get the identical frontend and api without an exit node or an ip address in the logs.

the address tracked here is that first-party endpoint, not a community mirror. as with any explorer, a green badge says the door is open - not that your transaction history is anyone's business but yours.
