faq-ish thing
the questions that actually come up, answered without marketing language.
- why does a link show ONLINE but won't open for me?
- our checker talks to it over the tor network from here. captchas, regional blocks or your own tor setup can still get in the way. the badge means "answered recently", nothing more.
- how often do statuses update?
- a sweep runs every few minutes and every address gets touched at least once every 30 minutes. uptime % is rolling history from the last 7 days - gaps count as online, fresh entries start at 100%.
- what does SLOW mean exactly?
- the server answered, but took longer than 9 seconds. tor is patient; we measure it anyway.
- is a green badge a recommendation?
- no. it means a server answered at that address during our last probe. reachability and trustworthiness are completely different questions - never conflate them.
- can i add my site / do you take submissions?
- free submissions do not exist. the only way to appear on this list is a paid placement - see advertise. everything else on the list is there because we chose to track it.
- do you log visitors?
- this page has no accounts, no forms (except the advertise order), no analytics scripts. boring server logs exist because servers exist, that's it.
- why is the whole list not on one giant page anymore?
- categories got their own pages with proper descriptions - better for you, better for search engines. the sidebar has the full map.
