what is archive.today?
archive.today takes point-in-time snapshots of web pages and stores them permanently: javascript is stripped, layout is preserved, and the capture remains online even after the original page is edited or deleted. journalists use it to freeze quotes before they can be quietly retracted; researchers use it to cite things that will not rot.
unlike the internet archive's wayback machine, archive.today captures exactly what the page looked like at that second and refuses to honour robots.txt removal demands, which is why deleted press releases tend to survive there. the service operates several onion addresses, of which the one tracked here is the best known.
reading archived pages through the tor mirror means your research into a controversial topic leaves no trace with the archive beyond tor's own protections. the status block below shows our latest probe results: reachable or not, how fast, and stable over the past week.
before you trust any of this
- .onion addresses are long on purpose. one wrong letter = someone else's server.
- if a service matters to you, cross-check its address against its own clearnet site or PGP-signed announcements.
- a green badge here means "reachable", never "trustworthy". we report reachability only.
