what is securedrop directory?

securedrop is an open-source whistleblower platform: news organisations host their own submission boxes so sources can upload documents and exchange messages without revealing their identity. dozens of major outlets - the guardian, the washington post, der spiegel, globe and mail and many more - operate instances, each with its own onion address.

the problem for a source is finding the genuine address for their target organisation among phishing copies. that is what this directory solves: freedom of the press foundation maintains the canonical list of verified securedrop onion addresses, published as an onion site itself so sources inside tor can consult it safely.
