what is aster mail?

aster mail is a privacy-focused email provider that does the verification work for you: it publishes its current onion addresses on its own astermail.org/tor page - the gold-standard approach - and maintains two of them for resilience.

the provider is younger than the veterans in this category, but address publication on the operator's own site is exactly the practice that defeats phishing clones, which is why it earns the official tag here.

both addresses are tracked and probed continuously. before any login, compare the address in your browser against astermail.org/tor.

before you trust any of this

.onion addresses are long on purpose. one wrong letter = someone else's server.
if a service matters to you, cross-check its address against its own clearnet site or PGP-signed announcements.
a green badge here means "reachable", never "trustworthy". we report reachability only.

free tools for exactly this

validate this address (v3 checksum) › re-check reachability right now › verify a pgp-signed message › compare pgp fingerprints › encrypt a message with pgp ›
